COLLATERAL DESIGN

Hotel Brandon is an upcoming boutique hotel set in Brandon, Mississippi, designed to bring a fresh hospitality experience to the area. Featuring 86 rooms and suites, the property celebrates mid-century architecture, vibrant design, and Southern heritage while offering a modern guest experience rooted in place and personality. As the hotel prepared to introduce itself to the market, we partnered with the team to craft a full identity and experience suite, developing a brand system inspired by the spirit of the 60s while designed for today’s travelers.

BREAKING DOWN THE BRAND

THE VISION

To build a brand that feels rooted in the iconic character of the brand-inspired time period while remaining fresh, functional, and unmistakably modern. The vision was to blend retro architectural influence with an inviting, energetic personality—creating an identity that reflects both the hotel’s mid-mod inspiration and its contemporary hospitality standards. Every element needed to work across environments, from signage to stationary to digital, ensuring a cohesive and memorable experience.

LOGO DESIGN

At the heart of Hotel Brandon’s identity is a type-driven logo suite rooted in mid-century form. The primary stacked wordmark uses traditional 1960s letterforms arranged in an architectural structure, nodding to era-specific marquee signage. The square companion mark pairs oversized “H” and “B” letterforms inside a strong border for a distinct graphic signature. A horizontal lockup rounds out the suite, ensuring usability across digital and print environments.

COLOR PALETTE & TYPOGRAPHY

Leaning into strong colors of fire engine red, fruit punch red-orange, mystic teal, chocolate, and morning sun, the brand references the hotel's interior design and reinforces the era’s vibrant energy. A trio of fonts—Parkinsans, Tilt Warp, and Jura—blend historic charm with modern clarity. From marquee moments to clean, readable copy, the typography gives Hotel Brandon a distinctive, flexible voice rooted in old-school style.

VISUAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT

Using the signature red as a unifying element, the collateral embraces period patterns, bold borders, and playful copy to echo the era-appropriate design language. Local motifs—like Mississippi butterflies and magnolias—incorporate the setting, while sepia photography and vintage textures ground the look. The website splash page carries the same vibrant palette and retro typography forward, ensuring the brand feels consistent across all touchpoints.
